Fat transfer breast augmentation is performed as an outpatient procedure. To ensure your comfort, general anesthesia or a local anesthetic with oral sedation will be administered before the following three steps are performed:
- The fat is removed from the desired area(s) with liposuction: A thin cannula is attached to a medical vacuum device and inserted under the skin into the fatty tissues. The fat is loosened and then suctioned into a sterile container.
- The fat is processed to remove unwanted components. Viality™uses AuraClens™, which allows for better removal of free oils, blood, and cellular debris.
- The concentrated, purified fat is methodically injected into the breasts to enhance their size and shape. Viality™ can process from 50 to more than 1000cc in a single run.

What Can I Expect With Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation Recovery?
After your fat transfer breast augmentation, you can expect minor bruising and swelling for the first week or two. The discomfort associated with this procedure can be relieved with prescribed medication, but many patients find that over-the-counter medicines are sufficient.
After this procedure, you will be placed in a compression garment, elastic bandage, or surgical bra to reduce swelling and help the injected fat settle properly.
Follow these steps to ease discomfort during your recovery:
- Sleep on your back
- Take any prescribed antibiotics and pain relievers as directed
- Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes
Most fat transfer patients can return to non-physically demanding jobs or their regular daily routine after about one week of downtime. Avoid strenuous exercise and activities, such as reaching and lifting, for up to six weeks after this procedure or until our surgeon clears you.
What Results Can I Expect After My Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation?
You can help ensure your best outcome by following your surgeon’s instructions closely. After a couple of weeks, when most of the swelling and bruising subside, you’ll be able to see your early results, but some of the transferred fat will continue to be absorbed. Your results will take about two months to become final.
