Curriculum Vitae – Dr. Daniel E. Careaga

Dr. Careaga took on an intensive internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center located in Jackson, Mississippi. He remained at the University of Mississippi to complete a residency in general surgery.
After completing his residency in general surgery, Dr. Careaga finished a two-year Plastic Surgery residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. During his internship and residency, Dr. Careaga made several academic presentations of his research in surgical technique and procedure.

After finishing his Plastic Surgery residency, Dr. Careaga returned to Miami to begin his practice. Dr. Careaga is licensed to practice medicine not only in Florida, but also in Michigan and Mississippi. He holds certifications in advanced cardiac life support and advanced trauma life support. He also holds clinical appointments at Miami’s Baptist Hospital, at South Miami Hospital, Coral Gables Hospital, Mercy Hospital and Doctors Hospital. Dr. Careaga also belongs to several professional associations to include the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American College of Surgeons.

In addition to his extensive education, Dr. Careaga is trained in and employs state-of-the-art instruments and procedures in his practice. Dr. Careaga uses various laser-based technologies to perform procedures such as facelifts or cellulite reduction more safely and effectively. In addition to the use of these instruments, Dr. Careaga has performed more than a thousand plastic/cosmetic procedures. He specializes in minimal and short scar procedures for his tuck and breast augmentation procedures.
