Each patient’s laser hair treatment or pigmented laser removal treatment is customized.
Laser Hair Removal
Do you hate shaving, waxing, tweezing, depilatories, electrolysis or a combination of these methods to remove unwanted hair? There is no need to continue to deal with unwanted hair as our laser hair removal system can safely remove hair from legs, back, underarms, chest, and face.
Our state -of-the-art Paolmar Vectus laser system uses an 810nm diode laser which makes hair removal faster and more effective with less discomfort. This system allows our certified laser technician to individualize treatments for a full range of skin colors and any genetic variants in hair growth. The Vectus is not only the fastest laser for hair removal on the market, it is also the only laser to have the Skintel reader. Skintel is a skin pigmentation analyzer which measures the amount of melanin (the part of skin that gives it color). The laser then calibrates itself for your individual skin type. This drastically reduces the risks of burns and alterations to your pigmentation. The Vectus is the fastest and safest laser available.
Laser Hair Removal Process
The laser hair removal treatment process that has our trained laser professional placing a small hand-held device over the hair you want treated. Depending upon the area of the body being treated and it’s sensitivity, a topical anesthesia may be used.
The laser releases safe beams of invisible light combined with a heat source, which is absorbed through the pigment of the hair follicle. After a few short bursts (couple of seconds) of focused light, the hair follicle’s root is damaged inhibiting future hair growth. Remember, only the hair follicle is targeted, not the surrounding skin.
All laser hair removal patients require multiple treatments ranging from three to five treatments. Multiple treatments are needed because hair follicles grow in stages. Each timed treatment ensures that the hair follicle’s growth cycle is impacted so no new hair grows. The determining factors in the number of laser hair removal treatments and the length of each treatment session, include the patient’s ethnicity and the color, texture, and location of the hair. For example, a man’s dense, coarse, dark chest hair will require more time and laser treatments.
It should be noted that after one to two treatments, most patients will experience less hair coming back. You find that your hair will grow more slowly and get progressively finer and lighter in color with each treatment.
Most of our patients experience minimal discomfort and return to their normal activities immediately. Be sure to avoid direct sun exposure and apply a sunscreen with a high SPF. Be careful when touching the treated areas and bathing. Don’t shave, wax, or tweeze hair that has been treated.
Under the care and attention of Dr. Daniel E. Careaga and our skilled laser professionals, you can be razor free!
